Peter Wienk and Eileen Soper's illustrations could be deemed as dated having both illustrated Enid Blyton's classics. Seeing the comparison between old and new story books shows how much of an influence technology has on the development of illustration; the contrast between Peter Wienk's interpretation of Noddy and the modern animated version is a good example.

I like Eileen Soper's illustrations. They are simplistic and created using a fine liner and sometimes coloured ink. The old fashioned sketchy design reminds me of the books I have come across in my house that have a musty smell and yellow pages.
